The land at Plas Llanfair is of environmental interest; small enclosures
bordered by traditional dry stonewalling and native hedgerows and trees. The
land has a diverse range of species and habitats. The smallholding is run with
strict attention to this environmental sensitivity and within an organic system.
Our development and diversification into the tourism sector offers a unique
opportunity to visitors of staying on the only organic farm on Anglesey that
provides holiday accommodation.
Plas Llanfair Produce

We are registered with the Soil Association with both
producer and processor licences. Currently we produce seasonal organic fruit,
vegetables and eggs. We have now
developed a range of jams, preserves and
chutneys. We operate a small organic box scheme,
have traded locally
at the
farmers market in
Bangor and at food fairs and promotional festivals.
We supply a
number of local specialist shops
and cafes with our organic preserves and chutneys. We have been awarded
‘Commended’ - a national award for one of our organic products by the Soil
Association. Interest in the organic sector has increased with
demand significantly exceeding supply. (In the
UK only
10% of agricultural production is from organically run farms). There is also
more widespread and growing interest in countryside
management and we are part of the Welsh countryside
conservation and protection scheme; Tir Gofal.

Plas Llanfair was recently awarded the Green Dragon Level 2 certification in
recognition for effective environmental management. This standard is made up of
five steps each incorporating the key elements of planning, Taking Action,
Checking Progress and Reviewing Achievements to realise continual environmental
improvement.
